Design Shine Opening - Friends & Family

Join us for a special evening in the Garden as the UMLAUF unveils two new contemporary installations from the winning architect/designer teams of Design Shine 2020. Created to showcase emerging talent in the fields of architecture and design, Design Shine 2020 resulted in two extraordinary installations from two local teams, each of which incorporates serenity, focus, and empathy in times of uncertainty and chaos. 

Parallel Flux, a series of rotating parabolic curves affixed to orthagonal frames, encourages visitors to embrace change within and outside of the Sculpture Garden.

A series of disks placed at eye level throughout the Garden, Oculi aligns different views into one, encouraging visitors to reflect on their perspective.

Situated amidst Charles Umlauf's sculptures, the 2020 Design Shine installations will reinvigorate the visitor's experience with captivating, family-friendly sculptural art works.
