Description

Join us for our September UMLAUF After Dark on Tuesday the 3rd from 6pm - 8pm! We're featuring a special performance in collaboration with Austin Peace Day. We'll hear poetry readings from prominent Austinites sharing what peace means to them. Plus drinks from Austin Beerworks and Tito's Handmade Vodka. You can shop handmade goods and art from Ruby & Violet. We'll have lawn games, food from Urban Cowboy, and the beautiful UMLAUF Garden and Gallery.

The event will be hosted by KMFA Classical 89.5’s Dianne Donovan.

  • Simone Talma Flowers, Executive Director at Interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT)

Poems for Peace is hosted by Peace Day Austin and is one of a number of unique citywide events held in September prior to International Peace Day, September 21. Peace Day Austin is a local initiative made up of various organizations that encourage participation in, and observance of, International Peace Day on September 21, which was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 and adopted as an annual day of nonviolence in 2001.
